Optional usage analytics via PostHog, only if you turn on Anonymous analytics (off by default)

3. Data Storage and Security

All your personal data is stored locally on your device. We do not store your personal information on our servers.

We use industry-standard security measures to protect any data transmitted to us.

4. Third-Party Services

If you turn on Anonymous analytics, we use PostHog for product analytics. PostHog:

Receives product interaction events, such as a timer starting or completing, a tea being created and the paywall being shown, with app and platform information, but never your name, email or tea notes
Identifies your installation with a random identifier generated on your device; person profiles are created only for identified users
Is not given an advertising identifier, and session replay is disabled
Processes this data on our behalf in its US cloud; only the phone app sends analytics, the watch apps send none

Versions of Tea Timer released from October 2026 use PostHog as described; earlier versions send anonymous usage events to TelemetryDeck.

5. Your Rights

You have the right to:

Access your personal data
Request deletion of your data
Opt out of analytics at any time by turning off Anonymous analytics in Settings; this stops further collection, and you can contact us to delete previously collected events
Request data portability

6. Children's Privacy

Our services are not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
